Grannies went trendy at portuguese TV SHOW
Our From Granny To Trendy program has already brought together half a hundred women over 50 years out of active life. With the support of Portugal Inovação Social, municipalities of Esposende and Gondomar and Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, we restarted 3 local sewing clubs focused on the reduce and reuse of post-consumer textiles waste, in a dynamic that aims to empower more responsible consumption models, engaging all local agents. Accompanied by upcycling training sessions and personal development, these workshops promote the active aging and self-esteem of unemployed women. On the 16th of July, around 20 ladies went to present their creations to the TV show Caixa Mágica, showing live that the beauty of a woman has no age. Next september, new groups will start their upcycling journey also in Porto. A touching and inspiring moment to review here.
